Are we required to use IFTDSS for fuels planning?

If not, will it be required in the future?

Best Answer

As of now (April 13, 2017) IFTDSS is not required for fuels planning. As the application evolves the use of IFTDSS might be required, but that will be up to the individual federal agencies.  We are planning on integrating the Fuels Treatment Effectiveness Monitoring Database (FTEM) into IFTDSS.  FTEM is required for federal agencies for reporting wildfire interactions with fuels treatments. So once that functionality is enabled, users will have to log into IFTDSS to enter data into FTEM.
