Editing landfire data pixel by pixel

Is there a way to edit the landfire data pixel by pixel?  With the variability of the actual fuels compared to the landfire data, I don't think it will be possible to accurately edit the landscape with user created rules.

This is a good question, unfortunately we do not have a way to edit pixel by pixel. The landscape data from LANDFIRE comes in 30 meter resolution, but LANDFIRE recommends against interpreting it pixel by pixel, or in small group of pixels because the data is designed to support landscape scale planning https://www.landfire.gov/sites/default/files/documents/How_can_I_use_LF.pdf

That said, we have users looking at areas of many different sizes in IFTDSS. If you are looking to edit a very defined area on the landscape, we'd recommend applying the edit rules to an Area of Interest or mask (Step E in the User Defined Rule section of this editing tutorial). In that instance, you could create a shape around the area in question and later use that as mask during the editing session.

Here are couple other help topics that cover user created rules. While they're not focused on small areas specifically, they may have some information you can apply to your intended goal: Tips for Editing and User Created Edit Rule Guidance.

Hopefully this information helps.
